Race, gender, and sexuality have taken the forefront in almost every corner of culture.
Well meaning churches and Christians have found themselves retreating from a Biblical worldview on race, gender and sexuality more than they ever have. These topics seem so complicated, and Christ-followers seem to fall into three camps:
“I don’t understand these issues, and I don’t want to be involved.”
“Jesus is all about love, tolerance and acceptance, so we should either not discuss, or affirm cultural ideologies in an effort to reach them with the Gospel.”
“Let’s go to war with the BLM, LGBT+ and anyone else who seems to be against conservative ideology.”
John 1 tells us that Jesus came in grace and truth. The Bible teaches something different than all three of these stances. My second book, Elephants in the Room is about how these elephants have entered the church, and what we can, and should do about them. I have extensively studied Critical Theory, DEI, CRT, antiracism and more and attempted to present these topics in a simple and practical way, as well as compare them to a Biblical worldview. Elephants in the Room is meant to help everyday Christ-followers understand how to function in a culture that is changing all around us.
